First and foremost, this will be the first time that I eat pumpkin pie. I know – that sounds crazy. My mom’s side of the family is from Trinidad and Tobago, and while I have had pumpkin as a side dish, I have never had it in a pie. My dad’s side is from the United States, and I have had sweet potato pie at my grandmother’s house and my great aunt’s house.
To me, they look the same and smell the same, so I wondered if they tasted the same. Would I be able to tell the difference between these two orange pies? I asked my friends on Instagram and Facebook a few questions about their pie experiences…
From the poll results in my stories, it looks like most people who follow on Instagram are like me! They have had sweet potato pie, and usually have that for Thanksgiving.
In this video, I tried out two store-bought pies – one sweet potato and one pumpkin. I wanted to see if they really did taste the same, AND if I would be able to tell the difference between the two. Check out the video and see how I did!
