Have you ever been working on something and just so excited about building it? You are carefully putting pieces in place and you can’t wait to show people what you’ve worked so hard to create, then you sneeze and it all falls apart. Well, that’s sort of what happened last weekend. I was supposed to present Lemonerdy University at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago Inventive Genius Day, and then… I sneezed. I was sick, and unable to present.
I had big plans for my table! People could participate online and in person. I was making good use of my iPads from the Exelon STEM Academy and the ComEd EV Rally, and girls and gender-expansive youth in attendance could take a mini-lesson and quiz. They would learn a coding concept right there on the spot!
But, I sneezed.
I still shared the mini-lesson on Instagram with the quiz and all, which was fun! My friends and followers took the quiz and did well!
I truly believe that there is no such thing as wasted effort, and I am really happy that this opportunity pushed me to make this video introducing Lemonerdy U, and an interactive activity to go with it. It is exciting to know that I’m already prepared for the next in-person opportunities to present Lemonerdy U.
