CHICAGO \u2014 July 25, 2023 \u2013 Eden Wilson, a 17-year-old senior from Whitney Young Magnet High School is ready to change the world for the better with <\/span>Lemonerdy Universit<\/span><\/a>y. The initiative is one of 15 finalists of the fifth <\/span>Changemaker Challenge<\/span><\/a>, a nationwide contest hosted by T-Mobile, the T-Mobile Foundation, and the nonprofit Ashoka.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The competition calls for youth leaders ages 13 to 18 located in the U.S. or Puerto Rico to build more connected, sustainable, and equitable communities. These individuals and teams with big and bold ideas competed for a chance to win seed money and mentorship for longer-term support of their project.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

“When I started making coding videos, I got messages from girls around the world inspired by a girl who looked like them teaching coding. We are building the only learning platform whose primary goals are modeling diversity, kids teaching kids, and paying fair wages. Our youth-led platform encourages students to be what they can see. – Eden Wilson, co-founder of Lemonerdy University<\/span><\/p>

Sibling co-founders, Eden and David Wilson will receive an all-expenses paid trip to T-Mobile\u2019s headquarters and seed funding to supercharge their endeavors. They will also receive mentorship from T-Mobile executives, skills training, and networking opportunities during a three-day immersive Changemaker Lab.<\/span><\/p>

As the Digital Empowerment Category winner, Lemonerdy University will receive an additional $5,000 in seed funding and the chance to pitch their projects to T-Mobile senior leaders for the chance to receive <\/span>another<\/span><\/i> $5,000 at the Changemaker Challenge Lab, plus one-on-one time with a T-Mobile senior leader who will provide additional guidance on how they can grow their venture \u2013 and continue changing the world.
